Default Is this really Tortoise??

Just picked this up today. This was sold as genuine Tortoise but I am not sure how to really tell. Any tips or suggestions??

This is a Kutzey FLH from F H Loeffler, Rochester NY, Made in Germany

It's quite possible.
I'm sure there are "tests" out there, pretty sure I had one or two real tortoise razors, simply because I thought they were celluloid but the methods I was trying on them (which do work on celluloid and which I won't get into-they weren't some of my brighter moments) simply had no effect on these scales.
There's also the possibility of it being dyed horn.
I'm not an expert on this, of course, just saying it's completely possible that is real tortoiseshell.

From the pictures you provided, it is really hard to tell. Even if you had good pics, it would be hard for us to tell without seeing the rarzor.

Looks real to me. Try the hot pin test. celluloid will melt instantly. If it's painted or dyed horn it will stink terribly. Real t'shell has a sweet kind of smell when heated and will resist heat better than horn and of course far better than celluloid. Got to say though that real t'shell of this age is usually redder and darker.
