Default John Bert Cutlery Co.

Just bought my first razor to restore and it is marked John Bert Cutlery Co. on the tang. Under that is says 6 5/8. Reverse side of tang says Extra Ground and Mfg in Germany. Paid $15 at flea market...just something to get started on.

Anybody heard of them?

Quick second question. After a little sanding I notice there was the slightest bit of pitting on the edge, right where the bevel starts. Will the shave ever be good? Could the pits hone out?

Yes, but be prepared to spend lots of time honing to get past them (even on a fast/coarse hone like the DMT 1200).
