Maybe they ought to print the disclaimer"I don t know anything...." before they describe the item. Looks like a sweet deal for somebody that does know.

I find it amazing just how often this happens. Funny thing is that I have, only on a few occasions, taken the trouble to explain such mistakes to sellers. Two argued with me and insisted that the box was the correct brand. An example I gave to one of them was that I had a Timex in a Rolex box and I wondered if they might be interested in buying my Rolex. I was told to procreate with myself.

Give him his due, he does say, "I do not know anything about these , it came out of and estate sale (sic) ." Not a bad price in the end either.

In the past there were many companies in Solingen making straight razors; however, there were only a few foundries forging the blade blanks for all of them. That is one reason it is hard to tell someone about the quality of the steel when it came from Solingen - most of the razors from solingen were the same steel forged at one of a few foundries. Sometimes - rarely but it did happen - a blade was forged with the top die from one companyu and the bottom one from another. I know this happened at times since Chris Utzat had one that said Henckels on one side and said Dubl Duck on the other.
