Default J.R. Torrey, I'm in love... (a.k.a. new razor)

So...
last week I bought a rescaled J.R. Torrey from user Max-S.
It's a 5/8, Full Hollow blade, rescaled in beautiful Bolivian rosewood. It arrived yesterday, and I must say it looks LIKE NEW, amazing work Max-S!
Look-wise it's hands-down my favourite razor. The feeling of wood scales is so much nicer than synthetic ones.

I will take it for a shave tonight and report back later on that matter.

I was stunned by the pictures in the classifieds-section, so I used them instead of trying to take some myself (who would look like **** compared to these).

For your viewing pleasure:

That looks like a pretty nice shave. The pictures are very nice as well. I don't understand how you can get good pictures like that. Mine look like dirt compared to that. Congrats!

Its all in the lighting. A light box can be homemade and works wonders.

It is suspected the razor is haunted.

They have a sleek look and are of great steel, I'm rather fond of them, I have two.

Thx Steven for the kind words.

You'll enjoy the Torrey for a long time!

Actually I never use a light box but it's an easy and good way for product shots just like 'thebigspendur' noted. A good camera, a good understanding of light, a good eye and some photograpic know how does help.
Personally I love to only use natural light. I try to avoid flash light as much as I can. None of my pictures taken for any of my razors use any flash light. I only make use of daylight and use that same daylight as fill light.

it shaves like a charm, it is the smallest blade i've ever used. Well balanced and the wood scales, they just feel right.
This one's a keeper.

I had a Torrey. I sold it. I thought I had too many razors. I'm a moron.

That's a nice scale job.

Great looking razor. I just love those shoulderless grinds. Nice!
