Registration Issue
Hello,
I just joined the forum a few minutes ago, but thought I'd post an issue I ran into trying to create my account -
If you try to create an account from the front page of straightrazorplace.com, the registration form opens in a frame that (at least in firefox) is too small to allow you to see the CAPTCHA image and has no sideways scroll bar to make it viewable.
It's a minor issue, and I worked around it by just right clicking and opening the frame in a new window, but I thought someone might want to give it a look.
Thanks,
Eric

First, welcome to SRP Eric!
And thanks for taking the time to report the problem... it's a known problem and is on our list of things to resolve.

what are you clicking on to generate the failure you describe? (when I logout, go to the main screen and in the loginin form area click on "create one" it works fine.)

oh.. I see what you're doing... most of us never use those items... we go directly to the forums and bypass the main site altogether except when we want to use the library, help files, gallery, etc. You can reach the forums directly by opening www.straightrazorplace.com/forums/
PS - those links won't be fixed, btw.

Joe, something changed in the past 24hrs. I normally log in on the homepage and then click on new posts which takes me to the forum with all new posts displayed. As of today, when I do that it takes me to the forum but loads it in the window of the home page rather than before where the main page and window would be fully replaced by the forum page... Just thought I'd let you know. Now I can't see the whole forum page in that little window and as described above, there is no scroll bar and yes I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.11 for Linux. For now I just go directly to the forum page before I log in but I liked it the way it was before.....
Regards
Christian

Christian,
I suggest you go directly to the forums (ie, go to www.straightrazorplace.com/forums/ instead of www.straightrazorplace.com) and click the "new posts" link in the navbar instead of first loading the home page.
Unfortunately, the change I made to not load the registration screens in the frame has affected the other links which are excerpts from the forums themselves. This will all get straightened out eventually, but for now it's imperative that people be able to register.

OK... in a test of wills with this problem, I've made another script change which loads the login form items on the the main page in their own window instead of a frame (and hopefully doesn't screw up anything else. ) Let me know if something else has changed.

Blame it on the crash of 2008.
