Editing Old Posts
Maybe this is just me, but I went to edit a post I'd made last week (called someone the wrong name) and found there was no 'edit' button.
Again, maybe this is just me, but didn't there used to be an 'edit' button? Has something changed so that posts over a certain age cannot be edited any more?
Or maybe I'm just not looking in the right place. Is there still a way to edit old posts?
James.

I think it was done away with after a few past flapps it caused. You'll just have to own your mistakes for posterity and correct them in a appology

Nothing has changed for a long time... a couple years, in fact. You can edit your post yourself for 24-hours from the time you originally submit the post. After 24-hours, you can always ask a mod to edit it for you if it's something important.

God I'm getting old, I remember when you could edit posts that were ancient

Me too! I'm sure it was less than two years ago, or at least it feels less than two years ago. I didn't realise that's a sign of age - Thanks for that
James.

Ok... ok... ok.... I guess it wasn't a whole 2-years. Actually it was shortly after the Dec'06 blowup in the Conversation forum, which back then was called the "Off Topic" forum. Sorry I exaggerated .
But regardless, I never thought you guys were OLD!!!

With your avatars, concern about aging is understandable. It was almost 14 dog years ago.

You guys crack me up
Thanks for the explanation Joe. It has been a while I guess - long enough that I should have noticed before now.
James.
