PM's sent from classifieds forum do not show up in PM outbox
Today I sent 2 PM's to a member re. a razor in the classifieds forum. Both PM's do not show up in my PM outbox folder. Earlier they used to. How can I check if they did arrive in the member's inbox?

The classifieds seem to have their own PM system which can be accessed from a bar near the top of your page while you are viewing the classifieds. I actually didn't notice the first time I got messages, so I usually send a PM through the main forum's PM system instead of or in addition to PMing in the classifieds section.

when you click Classifieds in the upper navigation bar and watch an add there, you can "contact the seller". These messages won't show up in your regular inbox. They are only visible in the classifieds section, about an inch below the navigation bar there's a "1 message" text.
Kind of confusing to have two seperate messaging systems imho

I've received email notifications that I have PMs regarding items in the classifieds section. But it always says 'no messages' at the top.

If you are getting emails, those are the actual messages. Those messages do not appear in your inbox on the classifieds or the main forum; they are in the email body.

I don't get it either.
It's as clear as mud and very frustrating.
If you are sent a PM it appears at the top of the page when you are in the classifieds section. It's a classifieds PM.
If you reply, well you have to hope the system does its job, because you get no record or confirmation that I can see.
I find it's best to use e mail and not the SRP process. I really don't know why any system tries to duplicate e mail. Actually PM's just confuse the issue.
If you are trading you should have to give your e mail address. Simple I some one wants to purchase they e mail you.
At present you can E mail, classifieds PM or forum PM. How inefficient is that.

Ah, well I guess the system works then. But I do wonder what is the point of having it say 'no messages' all of the time. Maybe if I would have selected to not get the email notifications (when setting up my profile) they would be showing up in the classified's inbox.

The system works if you have a degree in info technology.
Otherwise it's cra*.
Sorry.
It's normal to provide the users sorry the customers with some simple guidance/instruction.
I repeat in the absence of said instruction, the system is absolutely useless.
It's like walking around in the dark with out a flashlight, tripping over every obstacle.
But who cares what the customer thinks anyway.
I mean we had a vote and that got ignored. So why listen to this simple cry for HELPPPPPPPP.

I can understand some of the frustration here. There is also some frustration in trying to get The Classifieds to be more integrated with the forum - PMs and Profiles. We are continuing to work on it. Please understand that your complaints and suggestions are not falling on deaf ears.
However, I would appreciate if you would look to use a workaround - such as suggesting that buyers/sellers contact you only via email or via the forum PM system - instead of attacking those who freely give of their time, who freely provide the bandwidth, who freely provide the facilities to buy / sell / trade via The Classifieds *and* who ask for nothing in return.

Quite right Byron.
It's easy to criticise and also unfair especially when I haven't got a clue how to offer any help or support.
This forum is technically superb and yes it is easy to work around the minor frustrations.
My apologies if I caused any offense.

Well
I'll admit the new classifieds can be a bit of a pain in the rear, and to be honest, it seems like less people buy from the new classifieds...
However, they do wok fairly well once you get the hang of them. So long as you accept the two different PM systems, and that you have to return to a regular forum page in order to check a member's profile or your SRP PMs, it's really not that user unfriendly. In a years time we'll all love it, I'm sure.

The BST Archive is there for the last few open items to be sold, bought or traded, and replies as to how those transactions were completed. Any new posts for items for sale, for trade or wanted to buy should be placed in the Classifieds. If they are erroneously posted in the BST Archive, they will be removed.
Thank you for your cooperation.
