Firefox keyboard shortcuts?
I just started using Firefox, and I'm loving it. However, I miss the keyboard shortcut Alt+S to submit posts and PMs. Is there a similar shortcut, or am I doomed to hit the Submit button with the mouse every time?

"Doomed?"
My first thought upon reading that was the difference between cutting down trees, cutting, hauling, splitting, stacking, and carrying the wood, all in order to keep warm versus just pushing a button on a thermostat.
I mean no offense. Most of us who are not Amish have become a bit soft thanks to modern technology but somehow I just giggled when I read about your hardship.
Hopefully, someone will be able to come to your rescue with a shortcut.
Hang in there till then!

Hmmm... I don't use IE unless forced to... so I 'm not sure about the Alt+S shortcut. However, tapping <Tab> twice and then the <Space> will result in "Submit New Thread" being "clicked".

Tabbing around buttons/toolbars/blank forms will work anywhere. Sometimes I find it convienant, sometimes I find the mouse easier.
A shortcut I really like is Control + Tab to go to the next open tabbed window. Adding in Shift as well goes to the previous tabbed window. If you're like me (and have enough tabs that you can't see them all at once), pressing Control + # where # is the number of an open tabbed window also helps.

Just for the record, the problem apparently lies with vbulletin, not Firefox, as outlined here.
Further to the solutions already suggested, you might find the following useful:
- Keyboard shortcuts from the Mozilla support forum, also accessible from the browser by going to "Help -> For Internet Exploder Users".
- Firefox add-ons like BBCodeXtra (as described here).
A functional workaround for your current problem appears to be this:
Code:
- Goto “about:config”. (Do this like going to a normal website)
- On the config page, find ui.key.chromeAccess and ui.key.contentAccess
- Modify ui.key.chromeAccess to 5
- Modify ui.key.contentAccess to 4

My reference was entirely tongue-in-cheek, so I'm glad you enjoyed it. REAL suffering is forgetting my BlackBerry when I go to work in the morning...
