SRP Firefox login issue
I don't know what changed but, for the last few days, when I try to login to SRP using Firefox, the screen just resets in exactly the same manner that it does if I enter a bogus username and password. At first I thought I was banned or the forum had crashed like it did in January until I found that I could still login using Safari.
So, what's up with that?

Could you be blocking cookies? Or could you have disabled the caching/whatever they call it?

Running Firefox 2 at home, 3 at work and have no issues. Might try to clear your cache. Are you telling it to remember you on login? You might try to clear the cookie for SRP.com & see if that helps.

I am also using the newest version of Firefox, and I have no problems.
Have you installed any new add-ons recently, or do you have adblock installed? That might be the cause of the problem. As a guy before me mentioned, check if your cookies are enabled and that scripts are enabled.
If they are, and you still have problems, try disabling all your add-ons and see if it works. If it works then, you now that one of them is the problem. If that don't do the trick, try and un-install FF, restart your computer and re-install.
Hope this helps!

I haven't changed any settings recently so that should not be the issue. Also, oddly, when I clicked the button to reply to your message, I got a login prompt in the center of the screen, as opposed to the little login frame in the upper right corner of the screen, and when I logged in on that center screen it worked just fine in Firefox.
I probably shouldn't have posted this thread. It's a waste of time. I'll get it sorted out or I'll just login in through Safari. Or, I'll have my wife sort it out for me. I leave girlie stuff, like computer issues, to her!

Problem solved
Well, I went ahead and cleared private data (Hide the porn! Hide the porn!) including the cache and cookies, and then tried logging in again. It worked!
Thanks guys!

I have found out a long time ago that all computers must be female..
They work just fine one day, but the next day for no apparent reason, something is wrong...
Luckily it is seldom something that is to hard to fix

I am running Firefox 3.0 and IE 7.0 and cannot receive alerts from SRP. For example: when someone replies to a thread that I have posted to I do not receive an alert also when someone sends me a PM I do not receive and alert until I log into SRP and then I will receive the alert. Dave thought that maybe ATT had the SRP blocked I call them and they did something which didn't work. I am running sbcglobal.net thru ATT. So I changed my SRP email to my gmail.com account and then have gmail.com forwarding to my sbc account which is working.
Any ideas? I haven't called ATT back to try again.

just me?
I think it's because you're logging in using the username and password input fields on the right side of the homepage instead of the ones in the center. That used to happen to me until dwessell (the bomb) added the central input field. If I went to the forum page to log in, then I experienced no troubles
[Edit: Sorry folks! My post was in reply to Utopian, who I see has already fixed his issue. This is probably just a minor nuisance I am encountering that is not as severe a problem as I see others are having]

Well, this is an issue with firefox 3. Some users experience problems while entering forums that should "remember" their username and passwords.
Since I upgraded to FF3 at home, all my forums began having this problem, not only SRP. Oddly, at work, with FF3, everything works fine as always did. I think there's a problem with the FF3 cookies, there are lots of people who reported this problem to Mozilla, but without a solution yet, maybe in the next upgrade...
Until then, I'll have to enter my login and password everytime (sight)
