Sunday:

Rooney's finest small style 1 brush
Gold-Dachs Spezial soap
Illinois #127 strop
5/8 Koeller Sta-Sharp spike
Taylor OBS Bay Rum

<cha-cha-cha-cha-cha-cha>Outstanding shave!</cha-cha-cha-cha-cha-cha>

This razor has always been a major PITA to hone but with an incredible edge. After it went dull a few weeks ago I had a terrible time getting it back up to its formerly lofty heights. I could get it to shave well, but couldn't quite get it to that effortless 1-pass BBS shave that it used to deliver. I had begun to suspect my hardwood Chrome Oxide paddle was warped again, so yesterday I made a vellum-on-tile paddle and gave this razor about 40 laps and it's back baby oh yeah!

philishave 5806

damn right i cut myself saturday with str8 in jaw saturday and i didn't want to use it today, cause i don't want those wounds to open again... haven't use that philishave in about 6 months and now i remember why it SUCKS with big capital S... it didn't gave me anykind of shave, compared to str8... i can't understand how some peoples can use only these electrical shavers (or whatever those are called)

Shavemac 501
Mama Bear Sandalwood Vanilla soap
7/8 Friodur
Alum block
Tabac A/S splash

A great shave - the beefy stainless Henckels never disappoints. This NOS razor deserves better scales than the generic ones it came with, and it'll be on its way to Louisiana tomorrow.

Tue:

Rooney small style 1 brush
Gold-Dachs Spezial soap
Illinois #127 strop
5/8 Puma #69 half hollow round tip
Old Spice A/S

Good shave. The Puma is very very close to where it needs to be. A few more laps on the arkansas should do it.

Test shave before sending off Beau Brummel 40
5 or so days' growth

shower
Lucky Tiger Shave Lotion
Plisson 12
Vintage Clydesdale shell strop
Beau Brummel 5/8 Full Hollow Spike
Trumper's alum
Trumper's LSF

Sale pending on this razor so I wanted to test it. I felt it was up to par and didn't even prepare a back-up. Had worked on sessions - various hones, including Norton, oiled Escher, and kosher coticule, followed by CrO2. 30 linen, 60 leather (strop has very little drag)

Shave was undoubtedly 10 / 10 experience, no irritation / cuts. Probably my best shave in the past couple of months. However, I think good prep had a lot to do with it. Have a feeling that the razor is actually 9+ / 10 at this point. I believe it can be better (based on other BB I have used).

Overall: very satisfied with this shave

Cheers
Ivo
