April 29 - May 5
A much anticipated late day shave with my new Chandler custom
3.5 days growth
Mama Bear masculine musk soap
Shavemac 501
The Mighty Chandler 8/8
Alum block
Dolce & Gabbana A/S splash
I expected a fine shave with this razor. What I didn't expect was a first pass that left so little behind I could have easily stopped right there.
There's also a little more audible feedback than I expected, a fine skritching sound when the blade meets the whiskers.
Absolutely the best shave I've ever had.

I went camping this weekend, so I attribute a little of the "razor burn" to the slight sunburn I got.
Warm shower
Dovo 5/8
Barbus shaving cream
Because of the aforementioned sunburn, I used as light a touch as possible, and to my razor's credit, still got a good shave. I got greedy shaving my chin, though, and wound up with a couple extra nicks. Oh well, they went away quickly.

~ 1 week no shave
just a little chilled moonshine straight up no ice
Custom Super Silvertip ivory handle (Matt)
Trumper's Rose sc
Vintage Russia Shell strop
Dr. Moss scuttle
Heljestrand MK10
Puma Pumaster 13/16
Trumper's alum
Trumper's Coral SF
What a nice shave. 2 tiny nicks (attributed to the spirit) but still. For some reason, quite fast too for my standards, and not because I was in a hurry
Both razors were a pleasure to use but the Puma debut was, well, better. Very different feel on these, Helje silent and stiff, Puma louder and smoother.
Cheers
Ivo

I got a mild sunburn on Saturday, so I expected the worst lol. However, was surprised at the lack of pain. Two weeks growth, did 3 passes, wtg ,atg, and xtg. Two passes would've done it, but when I shave, I want it smoooth..only had one minor nick. This was also my 5th straight shave.
Cool shower (I know, this goes against everything that is holy and good, but we've no ac yet)
Strop: Bearskin I obtained from Ivo
pure badger brush (no name, but works really well)
soap..sample from St Charles Shaves...unknown scent, but smells nice
mug..old crock shaving mug marked us quatermasters corp on the bottom....holds heat really well
geo wostenholm IXL with horn scales (my best at the moment)
finished off with nivea ultra soothing balm
masters bay rum

Sun & Mon
Dovo travel brush
Williams Mug Soap
Some little 1" german paddle (streich-reimen or some such)
6/8 Henckels Friodur
no A/S
Spent the weekend camping, so these were done with no hot towel, a coffee cup of water, and the side mirror on the truck. Worked surprisingly well, but Friodurs have never let me down.

Got a mint or NOS Dorko for the tribe - my first nude lady scales
custom super silvertip ivory (Matt)
Tabac ss
vintage Clydesdale strop
5/8 hollow Dorko
Trumper's alum
Trumper's CSF
DM Personal Jesus on repeat
Did a little work on the Dorko to pass HHT but it just wasn't ready = an unpleasant shave. I decided to tough it out
Observation: the linen on this strop, which I cleaned so that there is no wax left and it's quite soft and grabby, seemed to bring up the edge somewhat better than the other linen that I drenched with wax to make pretty hard and glossy
Cheers
Ivo

Warm shower
W H Sample & Sons 5/8
Barbus shaving cream
3 passes
Not a great experience today. The Sample is getting dull, and pulled a lot. Stropping helped, but I ended up with more razor burn than I would have liked.

Tue:
Rooney small style 1 brush
Gold-Dachs Spezial soap
Hand American strop
5/8 TIPTLE
Royall Lymes A/S
Needs some work on the hone; I've gotten better at it since the last time I worked on this razor. Great shave in only one pass, though, this thing practically reads my mind when shaving. I shudder to think of what this thing will be like when it's up to the new level of snuff...

Tabac day
Shavemac 501
Tabac soap
8/8 Chandler custom
Alum
Tabac A/S splash
2nd time out with this razor, it wasn't as much fun as taking 4 days growth off in one pass but a great shave none the less. This razor excels all over and does an especially nice job on the upper lip and chin areas.

shaving 3 days in a row - I think I have only done this for conferences or visiting clients / partners
Matt super silvertip ivory
Musgo Real sc
Vintage DD #70 strop
Simmons Hdwe Keen Kutter K739
Trumper's alum
Trumper's CSF
What a nice shave, from such a great razor. Its shape is one of my favorites - jimped thumb notch, extra long monkey tail, fabulous grip and control. This razor is riiight after my top 3.
Musgo Real stinged a bit when applying but this did not progress into irritation even after 2 passes. Nice change, interesting scent, performance was good.
Cheers
Ivo

Hot shower.
Dovo 5/8
Van der Hagen "Deluxe" soap (for the heck of it)
3 passes.
Proraso Liquid Cream A/S
Decent shave today. Smooth with little irritation. I think my Dovo is starting to get dull, too, though. It missed more than I would have liked on the downward pass. (It's also possible that I'm not stretching enough either.)
The Van der Hagen soap performed alright, the lather lasting about as long as I needed, but I've really been spoiled by that Barbus soap.
