Setting the Lines Shave
This is my day to re-set the lines in my beard so I haven't shaved since Sat morning!!!
I usually use my Dovo for this chore because it is actually my sharpest razor (although it is not my best shaver) But I just finished the restore on this Crown & Sword 1820 ERN, and I was very impressed on how well this one sharpened up so I decided to try it.......
Started with some steaming towels from the microwave (I am so going to add this to my shave den)
Hot wet towel prep
Uberlather:
Salter Rose Creme
Classic Shave Rose Soap
Pure Gylcerin
No pre-shave strop today the razor was pre-setup last night
Lather up
1 WTG pass
Hot water rinse
Still no stropping (Testing the blade)
Re-lather
1 XTG pass on the cheeks
1 ATG pass on the neck
This sets up my beard lines for the next two weeks
Wipe away excess lather with hot towel leaving a very light film behind
VERY carfully finish getting the beard lines straight with the edge of the blade
This is why I use a straight!!!!!
Very impressed with this razor I knew it was a good restore but this is great
Follow up with a coolwater rinse
Thayers Rose WH
Watch the news have my coffee
Then a nice hot shower
Followed by Clos d' Inde Bay rum AS
And off to work!!!!!

my first post, and only my 4th straight shave!
shower with wife's conditioner (?) in beard
Double Arrow 6/8 (yes, the cheapo Chinese one with chintzy plastic scales!)
stropped 50x with 3 micron Ryobi white rouge
Williams shave soap, WBUR mug and a neon cat throwup boar bristle shave brush
1x WTG
1x ATG (except XTG above moustache and below lip - sporting the goatee)
1x XTG (except for above and below lips... 2 passes was all I need there)
1 spot needed styptic stick
homemade lime AS (alcohol, witch hazel, water, glycerin, juice of plastic lime)
Superior 70 bay rhum
Giggidy, giggidy, giggidy! After just a few tries, I am rapidly approaching a bloodless, ubersmooth straight shave! I can smell it!
Next time, I'll take photos!
