Wife at doctors this morning so I am shaving with my 2 month old daughter in the bouncy chair, with 2yr old daughter making frequent visits. Both daughters are being very vocal during entire shave as one foot is bouncing the chair, one hand on straight, blackberry rings- client in emergency-

Oh boy, in retrospect I should have skipped shaving today but by the grace of something I managed to get out of the bathroom without any cuts.

whew. I really appreciated the skin food this morning as the shave was rather close due to rushed state.

Sorry no time for pics.

Hot water, soap, badger brush, lather
Tony Miller (plug!) strap
6/8 Hollow ground Comfort razor (honed by Lynn! Thanks man!)
5/8 Hollow ground Pipe razor (touched up by Lynn! Thanks again!)

I don't know what it is but since I've been using the Wapienca, my other razors seem to have trouble getting through as much hair. They cut just fine but I can't make a good long stroke without some difficulty. It's probably technique (or lack of it.) Now that they have been touched up, they are certainly sharper but I am getting a better shave from the Wapienca.

Therefore I finished my shave with

5/8 ebay Wapienca (I now regret selling my first one)

Cold water rinse and I'm good to go!

vintage scuttle-mug
Shavemac pure badger brush
Challenge Cutlery 5/8 round-point
Black Bear brand strop
Truefitt & Hill Grafton shaving cream
Truefitt & Hill Grafton a/s balm

3 passes, bbs, just a little razor burn, which I expected as I rarely shave two days after my previous shave. Usually I wait 3 days before shaving, but today is a special occasion, and I want to make a good impression on my fellow SRP'ers and their families.

Later this evening: Truefitt & Hill Grafton cologne

Well in that case I might shave again before I leave tonight. Everyone will just have to wait in their cars

LOL I don't think I'd want to try dry shaving with a straight. Can imagine the razor burn.
