My new favourite soap.

Recently i took some time off posting in the forums( this and others...) i had spend a lot of time experimenting with all the products that i have acumulated trying to find the one that i like the most ,not that i dont like variation , i actually do.....but i wanted to find "the" product for me... and i think i did.
In my shaving den , the crown to best product shaving for men goes to...."CELLA"!!!!!!!
Followed very closely by Tabac and Truffit and hill luxury hard cake.
And here is why....
I used the same products with diferent razors,safety razors,blades, and aftershave products...and the one that has given me the best results regarding price or fancy presentation is "cella".
There is a nurishing property that this soap has that other lack a little bit.
I shave a lot of the times with a straight razor, when shaving with a straight, out of enjoyement i sometimes shave for 30 minutes, therefore i can really see how lather behaves, many of them start disapearing after a few minutes ( i think they dry up) but "cella" was one of the few that kept the thickness and wetness factor endlesly. (tabac also was great at this)
If you tell me that this soap/cream has a secret and exclusive rare nut oil that growes only in the region where this product is made...i would believe it....it just has a nourishing effect like no other, after the shave my skin feels great,very elastic and nourished,opposite of dry... better than with the others, also could be that this product instead of having a "super" ingredient maybe doesnt have damaging detergents that more common products have (companies use detergents to make it easier create faster a lather) that damage and dry our skin....
The scent while not overpowering is there all the time, and its so yummy i just want to bite the soap...literally...like fresh lightly toasted almonds on butter....
The soap consistency is more like a very thick cream, it takes more love to make lather of this one...but is worth it...also is the best excuse to spend more time playing with brush...(who doesnt love that).
Even after 30 minutes the lather that is in the bowl hasnt dried a bit and i dont have to get more soap to finish my passes.
The only thing about this soap that i dont like is that it says needs to be used within 12 months....i am sure if well taken care of.... should last more...but does anybody have experience using this soap for over a year? i would hate for this soap to be loosing its good properties after some time....

I have to give excelent recomendations to 2 other products that followed closely, these 2 products that in my opinion are remarcable and excelent products as well are:
1-truffit and hill luxury soap, its a hard cake triple milled soap with a light lavander fragrance...behaves very very well.
2-tabac: in the famous soap cake, unique scent with incredible properties as well.

I love the variety of having 20 +fresh products to choose from every morning, i love my glycerin based soaps also...but more for when i wanna have a quiky shave....but with out any doubt....these i mentioned above are my favourites and i believe they deserve a spot in every wet shavers arsenal.

Now....if anybody knows anything or why these soaps behave the way they do...could you please comment?
does it have to do theat they are all tallow based?

the 150gr jar costs $12
they also offer 1000gr (around 2 pounds) for $44.
Somebody was teling me at another forum that this soap uses a very old formula, its made in italy by hand and that it cointains no preservatives....therefore maybe where its goodness comes from....and also maybe why it states in the box to be used in 12 months.
The list of ingredients is very small small compared to others being its main one coconut .
Anyway, i really recomend it.

It'll never happen. I need to thin my soap collection one of these days...

Wow, I remember stealing some of my dad's Tobac in the 70's.
I must admit to you all though, I love a full on tobacco/musk senario
Maybe I'm sad, maybe I'm back in fashion!?
I will try that hard soap though, old chap.

Same here. This is great stuff and it really takes me back. Their Aftershave and shave shoap are both simply outstanding.

I have a guess as to why it must be used in 12 months. My brother is a massage therapist and oils need to be kept refrigerated to prevent spoilage since they're natural products. I know that almond oil and apricot seed oil have a nutty almondy smell to them and those can be used in massage. Just a wild guess.

If memory serves, T&H Luxury is actually not tallow-based, but based on vegetable oils. Still, it's a fantastic soap.

Cella and Tabac are tallow based soaps while the T&H is veggie based. T&H is one of the better veggie based soaps though.

I find that the tallow based soaps lather more richly and offer more cushion than their veggie based counterparts. T&H comes close but is not quite there. My skin also prefers tallow based soaps but with that said the cella burned me. Valobra makes a shaving soap block that is very similar to cella and they offer it in two flavors - almond and menthol I believe.

If you like the cella type soaps I suggest you try the AOS soap puck or the Valobra shaving stick (these are virtually identical) as they are some of the finest examples of tallow based shaving soaps around that produce a rich protective lather that lasts just like the cella. I found them to be even a touch better than the cella. This is all personal preference of course but I think it's worth a comparison try. They're all good products.

Thank you so much for your coment and for the correction, you are right t & h is vegetable...sorry... but i still love it.
I have tried both valobras , they are very gentle on your skin and great to shave with, but i notice the lather disapears on me ( might me the kind of water in my town) and i have to relather, this is something that didnt happen with tabac or cella.
Have you tried a soap named p.160?
somebody recomended to me, they say is a soap that barbers in italy buy by the kilo and love to use it.....
And one more thing ...regardless the bad fame that the art of shaving had from the beginning (for being overpriced, marketing etc...) you are right by recomending them,i think they are great products, i didnt know their soaps were tallow based as well.
I guess my face knows what it likes...

I just tried cella and I loved it,
That is some amazing soap, you weren't kidding about how well the lather holds up. Have you tried Institut Karite shaving soap? I ordered it the same time I ordered the cella. The lather doesn't dry out alot like the cella, It is more costly though.
