Default Clubman Shave Cream?

I was perusing the local Sally Beauty Supply, and in the back they had a small selection of men's items, including a tube Clubman Shave Cream (and shave balm, and after shave...). Interested in a superior lathering experience, I picked it up.
I haven't used it yet, but I was hoping someone here may be able to give some advice on how best to imploy it? Anyone?

If not, I'll post to this again probably tomorrow describing my experience.

Clubman products are the kind of things you either hate or love. A few of their scents I like but most aren't all that great. I've never used their soaps or creams but to me their stuff is kind of low level so I wouldn't expect much from the cream in the performance department. I hope I'm wrong. I would guess you could either apply it from the tube to your hand to your face or to a brush and just work in in. Let us know how it works maybe you've discovered a real bang for your buck product eh?

It is suspected the razor is haunted.

It's funny you mentioned "Scent". I think Scent is something that is completely personal......

For instance, I happen to like Clubman products......but not too long ago, I sucumbed to a tube of "Cremo" shave cream......used it exactly ONCE, and
trung it in the dumpster !

It shaved OK.......but I think a mangey dog, eating rotten cabbage, beans & drinking stale beer could poop out better smelling shave-cream !

Nothing wrong with Clubman® !

Thumbs up

I have a tube of the Clubman lather shave cream and it is actually surprisingly good.
Again, like most US manufacturers, they assume one does not own a brush. Nonsense. Use your brush with it, and it performs quite well IMHO. Sort of a light mentholated scent, a bit like the Men-U creams. It doesn't smell like Pinaud clubman, if you were wondering. There is a non-lather version also, but I've not tried that one.
The lather version, however, is very slick.
Let us know what you think of it when you buy, I like mine.

I have some clubman shave cream, and I do use it for super lather.
The scent is far from my favorite, and by itself it is relatively low end. but it does well when mixed with a good quality soap.
Very good for super lathers.

This is true I used the cremo shave cream and I like the scent reminded me of a Pina Colada. I guess that is why there are so many different after shaves. Different strokes for different folks.

I find the Clubman lather to work about as well as Proraso. It is also a mentholated creme but I think it has a more pleasing scent than Proraso though not as much menthol. Its a more "modern" scent than the traditional Clubman and it does match the scent of the aftershave and the ex foliating facial wash in the same line of products.

I won't hesitate to buy it again when I run out.

Its funny I saw this thread because, I just shaved with the stuff for the first time last night. I didn't find the lather to be particularly thick, or slick for that matter. I then mixed in a dab of HeadSlick(by HeadBlade). I just tried it in a whim and it made an extremely slick, thick lather that did not dry out. It made for one hell of a shave.

Tomorrow morning (or possibly tonight) I will be adding a dollop of this stuff to my Col. Konks, in an effort to make a semi-uber lather. Will report after the fact!
