Default Pre-Shave Washes

Anyone use the pre-shave wash/scrub products from Art of Shaving? How about the ingrown hair treatment? Are these worth the price?

I've tried there facial wash and facial scrub, i'm not a fan of peppermint so i didn't like them. it's not really meant to effect your shave though, just help your skin. The face wash is SUPER mild too, no foaming and is mostly oil based.

I find most of there products overpriced except the shave cream/soap and A/s witch is out of this world.

I recommend trying this http://sharpsusa.stores.yahoo.net/foamwash.html smells so good.

Noxzema works for me.

I am leary of aggressive exfoliants pre shave.

I don't want to wash off too much of the skins natural lubricating oils.

Part of the reason a lot of folks won't shower pre-shave.

During my pre-shave routine, the heat of the hot towels and menthol will open pores and the lather will bind any dirt thus raised, to be toweled, and rinced off just before the final lathering for the shave.

There are plenty of facial scrubs out there that will do the job for way less money. I have tried the AOS and wasn't impressed with it. Nothing special.

Subsequent investigation revealed the razor belonged to Toshiro Kawasaki a WWll Kamakazee pilot who was killed when his plane slammed into the USS Yorktown. His last act was to shave with that razor. It is suspected the razor is haunted.

that makes a lot of sence, after all a barber doesnt shower you before the shave,i was watching the chef show that curtis the chef picks up women in the supermarket and cooks a meal for her and her hubby, he picked a guy that was going to get married soon and found him in a barbershop all toweled up, you know what that means, yep a straight shave ,the barber rubbed in some pre shave oil before the lather, then gave him a shave with a straight,i am going to ask the old barbers in my area what they used pre shave to see what the old timers used in the day, the youngest is 72 the oldest is 83
