Need help with finding soaps and creams in Canada
Hey guys I was just wondering if any of the Canadian members could tell me if there are any locations that I can buy a good veriety of shaving soaps and creams in Canada, or order from Canada. As I don't like dealing with the steep shipping involved in a small quantities of soap from the US. As I am looking to try other sents and brands.
Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Not sure about the Montreal area but in Toronto we have Crabtree & Evelyn, The Body Shop & Lush. Porasso can be had at Shoppers Drug Mart. Those are the links to the Canadian websites.

Crabtree & Evelyn & Lush have the most variety. The Body Shop have only a few which I have yet to try but I understand they are pretty good. The Porasso at Shoppers is really good. They carry the pre-shave, cream & soap. I don't think you would be disappointed with anything from Crabtree. Right now I alternate between Porasso & Crabtree creams.

Well there is no Crabtree here, but I'm in montreal often enough so I'll pop in and have a look. I'll definatly look into shoppers though, as well as the body shop. Thanks for the help.

There is a very good thread on B&B which lists where one can obtain shaving supplies in a particular city. I can't find it now, but I'll edit this post if I do.
Here at Montreal, there is Vasco (REALLY over-priced, for the moment), two or three C&E outlets and, apparently, a place in the PVM.
Internet-wise, a Canadian firm is Fendrihan.com. Though I have yet to have a dealing with them, they seem to be a nice place at which to shop. There is also a smattering of L'occitane stores in the city.
Hope this helps to get you started.

While I'm all for shopping this side of the border whenever possible, please do not ignore our Canadian friendly dealers south of the border. Depending on where you are located in Canada (yes, I know YOU are in Kingston, I just meant for other Canadians reading this) shipping from some of the small dealers in the US can actually be less for small orders as the USPS small package rate is quite a bit more favorable than ours.
Some of the gents who come to mind are, in no particular order:
Lee's Safety Razors - Safety Razors, Shaving Brushes, Shaving Creams, Shaving Soaps, Razor & Brush Stands, Colognes, and much much more!
http://www.qedusa.com/
Jim at Vintage Blades LLC has a somewhat different approach and while shipping costs may be slightly higher, he ships directly to your door via UPS but handles all the duties taxes shipping costs brokerage at his end and thus you have no headaches when you order from him. The price he quotes is all that you pay. It won't be that cost effective if all you want is a puck of soap but on the other hand if you want to try some of the aftershave products that cannot be sent via the postal service, Jim is your man!
Straight Double Edge Razor : Shaving Products Supplies : Dovo Safety Razor : Badger Shaving Brush : Men's Grooming Products : VintageBladesllc.com
Not exactly a US based dealer as they are located in England but they are Canadian friendly,
The Gentleman's Shop
Now, as to Canadian sources:
Fendrihan.com | Merkur Safety Razors Shaving Creams Shave Brushes
Atkinson's - Vancouver's finest selection of Shaving Supplies
The Beauty Factory (Web page says coming soon.... yeah right. In the meantime, Fendrihan is the source for some of those products.
Specialists in Men's Shaving Products, Classic Razors & Grooming Products | Momentum
Feelbest.com Mexoryl Anthelios, Today Sponge, Jergens soap, Avene, Lactaid drops, Robaxacet, Obusforme.
Juliet's Day Spa
Better Grooming Products for Men - The MenEssentials Boutique
Personally I have only dealt with Feelbest.com in Canada and each time it's a pleasant experience. Fendriham will soon be hearing from me, now that they carry some of the Booster fragrances. Lee over at Lee's safety razors and Charles at QED are wonderful to deal with and keep shipping costs very low, Jim at Vintage Blades is also wonderful to deal with and I can't say enough good things about these three gents. I'm just happy that they each have their own selection of products which means that I can shop at each one of them from time to time and I prefer to buy goods from people I like!
My list is not exhaustive but it's a good start. Personally, I prefer to shop with reliable sellers... saving a few pennies on shipping won't amount to diddly if you have to send something back because it wasn't what you ordered or it was poorly packaged etc.
Regards
Christian
