Tabac shaving soap
I used tabac for the first time today and i'm impress.
I'm relatively new to straight shaving and improving.
Today was my best shave ever.
IMO it's the best soap i tried so far.
Whipped cream that stay wipped all the way.
Excelent cushioning, Closer first pass than before, allmost as close as ATG
Crazy slick even at the end for touch up ATG. No lather, i didn't even have to wet with water.
It was slippery enough
I usualy use QED or C&E soap + Kiss My Face cream + Glycerin and todayTabac soap alone tops that;
similar wipped cream but slicker
Now i'll have to get some of Coleen's & MamaBear's soap

I use C&E cream soaps and they work very well for me, perhaps a tad better than Tabac, but is very pricey compared to Tabac. I heard it said that a puck of Tabac would last a year if used every day and the stuff does seem to grow instead of shrink through usage.
Later,
Richard

Tabac is fantastic soap, and the A/S is great as well. I've had a puck of Tabac soap for 8 months and haven't made a dent in it - looks bigger now than when I started.
Have a tube of cream which is also very nice. I'm impressed with all of the Tabac products that I have used: shaving soap, A/S, shaving cream, body soap... A++++

Tabac is and will always be in my shave den. I have a ceramic bowl and four refills right now but plan on stocking up on refills. Who knows when it'll be gone and I wanna be prepared

I'll probably never get through all my soaps, but I can't wait forever to try some of the nice soaps available. I kick myself for not jumping in on the qed wild rose soap group buy.

I think that TOBAC shaving soap is probably the best value for money soap you can buy.
The soap is long lived and the lather certainly protects the skin well. That's what a good shaving soap must do.
Unfortunately you either love or hate the scent.
I wish they offered the same soap with a few different scents as this might make some of the more expensive manufacturers of fine soaps consider their prices.
If you like the scent, just enjoy the soap, its hard to beat at any price.

Poona I think it's time to kick away all the soaps & creams for a moment and finally give Tabac a shot.

Better in my opinion.
The protection is similar, but the soap lathers more easily and the puck lasts longer.
But you have to like it's distinctive TOBAC scent.
There are a few German soaps that are of a high quality and they all seems to lather well and easily. I think that in general, the water in Germany is quite hard and the soaps have been formulated to cope with that.

They are both great. I mildly prefer MWF but they are really equal. Both provide close shave and comfortable, both leave skin feeling good after, though some react to the lanolin in MWF and some react to Tabac. Tabac has a more discernible perfumey scent which you either like or don't, MWF has a more basic clean scent which you like or don't. I like both and react to neither. But I think MWF is a ilttle better on my skin. But I love both of them.
Both are great tallow based soaps.

The clouds are falling.
This comes from a newbie with sensitive skin; read this post with that in mind.
Tabac is simply a brilliant soap. The cake is massive, the price is low, the quality is high, the scent is divine (when I pass by my bath-room, I often venture in to have a sniff of it and a few choice other soaps and creams) and the eficacy is top class. Now that I have gone through a full rotation of all of my soaps and creams, I intend to use it quite often.

David
I live in Laval and could never find Tabac soap in stores.
Found other Tabac products but no soap and they all said it was not available,
so i ordered on internet.
Did you find your Tabac in a store? If you did how much do they sell it for.
