I use mostly tgq soap and it there's no problem with the lather. You will probably need to do some practice runs before you can figure out what's the right amount of soap and water.
Sue's soap is glycerin based and it's almost fool proof as far as making lather. I personally prefer Colleen's scents, but that's why we have a variety.

Could you mix soaps for different scent combinations? IE; Ive seen chocolate scented soaps and almond scented soaps, could these be mixed for a chocolate-almond scent? or would it just be a mess with no discernable scent?

You could get a hersheys almond bar and put some dish soap on it!

This is a GREAT string. I am really learning a lot. I thought I was the only one who thought there were "old" scents...

You might try Crabtree & Evelyn's Nomad. Kind of a younger scent.

How do you get samples from Truefit and Hill? Their marketing on their website is impressive, but I'd rather not dump $30-50 on something that I have no idea what it's going to smell like...

You just need to ask, I've been running on different samples for weeks.

info@truefittandhill.com
sales@tayloroldbondst.co.uk

You can ask Are of Shaving on their website (unfortunately they don't send samples to Canada).
I also went to Crabtree & Evelyn to ask for some samples.

I've been mostly trying creams for sensitive skins and at the moment, TGC and Taylor are my best. I'm preparing a short review of my different tries (as soon as I get the white proraso).

One of the best unscented shaving creams is the unscented Kiss My Face give it a try you can usually find it in stores and it's not that expensive and gives a great shave.

Thanks, just e-mailed T&H.. Have to see what they'll do for me.
All these after shaves, pre-shaves, etc sound so great, but I've been dissappointed before.. so would like to know what I really want.

Well, I find this a very interesting topic.... Personally, I like some of the old man scents. I am 17 years old and shaving with a straight razor. For my soaps and creams I use whatever scent I want, simply because it doesn't leave a smell. I made my girlfriend smell my aftershaves because she didn't like my Pinaud Clubman. However, she did find the Aqua Velva Musk and Old Spice Pure Sport quite pleaseing. So, when I go to see her, that's usually what I wear. I am a big fan of both of those aftershaves so it's not a big deal for me to wear them for her
