Default Castle Forbes technique

CF cream seems to be as dense as the valobra almond putty. I use the valobra almond (hard cream/sof soap) as a soap - I load the brush directly and lather on face. Some pull of a piece in bowl lather, which I'd view as using it as a cream.

How many people use CF "like a soap"? ie load brush directly from the big jar, lather on face. And who uses like a cream (pulling a little glob out and bowl lathering).

I tried the glob and got way too much light lather so I'm going to try it like a soap next time, but curious what others do.

I tend to to dab the soaked brush onto the cream and then just build up a (copious) lather on my hand. It's such dense stuff that you seem to use very little to make more lather than you need.

I use it the same as I would a soap. I lightly swirl the brush over the cream while its in the jar and then lather directly on my face. It doesn't take much so I go lightly - lighter than a soap.

First off Ya gotta let everyone know that Castle Forbes is the best cream there is ...Period !!!!!
Keep in mind that I rarely ever use just cream or just soap to lather, but here's a trick I use for the CF that seems to work for it.. I take the Snurdle of cream and put it in the lather bowl, and kind of smear it around the bottom with my finger then let that sit in the hot waterand warm up while I shower, the warming bowl softens the CF and and make it accept the brush a little easier... Also I tend to do a little more swirling with the brush tips before actually trying to build the lather that seems to really work...

Now that is an interesting technique.

I've been using it as a soap and love it that way.

Is it the best.........not sure yet. It is awesome. So far the shaves have been incredibly close but not as cushioning as say MWF. But I'll judge if that's still the case after using it more. Scent incredible. Shave incredible. Feel of face incredible.

What great timing. My Lime CF just arrived today. I might need to have a shave tonight to try it out. Thanks for the techniques.

I thought this sounded goofy but I tried it tonight and IT REALLY WORKS. Really really works. Spreading it out and letting it soak in a tiny amount of water really undid the bad side of the hyper denseness of this cream/soap. So CF moved up in my preference list.
