Institut du Kerite soap is available
Hi All,
In the past, I've kinda held off on saying too much about this shaving soap....one reason being these last 3-4 months it was incredibly difficult to find. Just recently a supply has surfaced, and it's being offered by the gentlemen at Shaving Essentials
I'll just say this soap is one of the top two shaving products I have ever tried.... creams included, for that matter). Very thick, rich and creamy lather that's loaded with shea butter(25%), which makes using it almost like giving your face a moisturizing infusion. Excellent for sensitive skin, with a faint kinda floral scent (to me). The performance during the shave is great, with plenty of slip.
There's many reviews in other forums if any readers are interested in other opinions, and you'll find almost everyone loves this stuff. I'm about halfway through my puck, and that's probably been 35-40 shaves worth so far.
Anyway, it's being sold for $14.25 per puck, which is a good price. I ordered two of em, and it ran me $38.45, which included Priority shipping. This is one soap I can't recommend highly enough.
Martin

I agree. Excellent soap. It's as good as the great tripple milled tallow soaps like DRH and MWF and AOS, but is a nice different experience as a shea soap.

Hi there,
Although I've never tried any of those three you mention, it seems like the IK is most often compared to MWF for performance and skin care. The MWF won't be something I'll ever be ordering, seeing as how I don't care for mutton. Hehe, sorry, couldn't resist that.
The only thing I've tried that has the same effects on my skin as the IK has been the JF Floris soap. That stuff is also amazing, but I prefer the shave more when using the IK.
Glad you enjoy it also,
Martin

+1. I received my puck last week from Shavingessentials. I have used it twice and the post-shave feeling both the times was amazing.

Shave Soap
This is without a doubt the finest shaving soap I have ever used. Wish I had found this soap 30 years ago. Thanks.

I have ordered the IK soap, cream, and A/S balm from Giovanni at:
home
Email him what you want, he sends a total with shipping, PayPal him...and you're done!
A big selection of other cool shaving stuff as well.

I got the IK stuff today...fast and easy! Ordered on 10/19, arrived on 10/22. Shipping with insurance was around $7.00.
I will try the items tomorrow...first impression: a powerful scent of "clean". Very nice.

WOW!
Great stuff.....the soap lathered nicely, very rich, like whipped cream. Very smooth and lubricating lather....I used my Mappin Brothers frameback and got a really nice shave. Followed with some rose water splash and then the IK A/S balm...this stuff is great! A small amount will do and it goes on nice and clean, no greasy feeling. As it is absorbed, you can feel the skin tightening a bit. Super smooth results, no residue. BBS shave. (my face is never BBS right after the sahve...I have to rinse and then do the splash/balm thing...I get BBS about 15-20 minutes later after the pores have closed).
The scent is clean, but not astringent. Just a fresh, clean scrubbed smell, maybe a distant scent of herb/floral, but not anything notable.
Great stuff!!!!
