I got the samples in the mail today, and I'd like to start off buy saying wow, the sents are amazing, and the lavander rosemery mint even smells good enough to eat haha. I wont be able to try one today as I shaved already, but I will do my best to try them over the next few days.

Rich, I just sent you a pm. There seems to have been a problem at the post office with your package.

Default Absinthe

Today I shaved with the third sample, Absinthe. As with Tea Tree and Rosemary Lavender Mint, I experienced a superb shave. As with the others I had no irritation on my sensitive face. I did three passes. The lather was thick and slick. I noticed no odor change or premature drying with this cream.

I would rate these creams a 10. The Tea Tree was my favorite followed by Rosemary and then Absinthe. The only reason being personal preference of the scents. IMHO these are great creams the way they are, but I am curious to see what you have in mind for changes. I'm not sure they can be improved, but hey who am I ?

Once again great job and let me know when you decide to sell in bigger portions!!!

So...
I received the Absinthe cream friday.
And after my last shave here are some of my findings:
-lather: at firts I feared I used too much water by accident, but thecream made great lather in a very short time.
-scent: spot-on! Smells like the real stuff. My girlfriend isn't that anise-minded, but I absolutely adore it.
-glide: very good, I'm using Trumpers soap and Palmolive cream most of the time, and they give me none of the slickness the absinthe one gives
-The greatest plus is the skin reaction to the cream, none that is. It's the most skin-friendly one I'm using.

I will be bummed if the container empties, if you intend to sell this, I WILL order!
Good work Chad, I'm very impressed! Keep me posted on this one!

I used the Mint cream today. Very enjoyable and i loved the smell and the cooling effect. The lather was real thick! During the first pass the lather dried on my neck but i added a little water for the second pass and the lather was just as thick but didn't dry out. It was a great shave! Not much that i can think of to add or take away.

Default I would be interested.

I am new to straight razor shaving and this site as well. Very cool you make your own shaving cream. I'll try whatever you can spare.

Thanks much,

Chris

Thanks for the reviews everyone. Its good to know that I seem to be on the right track. I only have about 7 ounces of cream left that I still have to scent before I can ship it out. It will probably be a little while before I can get to that as all my free time is being occupied by preparations for my wedding this Sunday. If I don't have enough to go around I'll put whoever misses out at the top of the list for the next batch. Thanks a lot!

Have a fantastic day & good luck!
My father in law gave me the advice to take the time to take it in, as it can go by in a blur!
Can't believe you've found the time to do this so close to the wedding!

Default Very pleased

I was sent the Mint, Rosemary/Lavender/Mint, and Tea Tree. The scents are very refreshing (I don't mind the scent of Tea Tree) and the consistency is great! I'm more of a soap user and I've used Colleen's, Mama Bear's, and Williams. I've used Colleen's creams but wasn't able to get as good results as I have with soaps.

However, the R/L/M that you've made is fantastic. Very quick to make a lather and seemed fairly forgiving as far as water/soap ratio. I loved the cooling scent of the mint. I found that the mint was indeed the strongest scent (don't know if that was intended). The lather held its moisture wonderfully and didn't try out. Glide was great and the moisturizing effects were very good. The only thing that seemed different was washing up. It seemed to leave a residue in my sink and stuck to my brush a bit more than other products I've used.

If there is anything else I can comment on please let me know. I'll report back next time I use the Tea Tree and "Pure Mint". Thank you again for the cream and the opportunity to experiment

Well my review was delayed by the lovely Canadian thanksgiving weekend, but now I'll shall get right to it. Firstly I'd like to say that the soaps/creams I've used in the past are, Porasso soap and cream, GEO. F. Trumpers sandlewood cream, and the Body shop brand shaving cream. Also the brush I use is a Edwin Jagger super badger.

I have to say that, except for the sents, I will cover all three as I had the same results with each of the creams when it came to shaving. Firstly I'd like to talk about the producing lather, initialy I was producing a rather dry useless lather, but by adjusting my usual water amount I found that it produced an excellent, fluffy lather. Secondly I found that the lather was very slick, and lasted well, and only on the therd pass did I have to add more water to it to bring it back to readieness. Finaly after three passes I had no irritation at all, and to push the limits I did a fourth pass just to see if it would still be sufficient to protect my skin in the extreams and I found even after a fourth pass my skin was still irritation free.

Now for the sents:

Absinthe- strong smell during shave process realy blasts the sences good for a morning shave, but post shave little to none (which is perfect for me)

Rosemarry/lavender/mint- during the three days after recieving and befor shaving, I found the rosemarry and lavender sents diminished, leaving a minty sent, with a small but nice hint of the other two. Which I found pleasent for the purpose of shaving, as the sent when I initaly smelled it was to strong for a shave cream in my opinion. Agian minimal post shave sent.

Mint- nice sent, not overpowering, and creates a refreashing odour which is good to wake up to during a morning shave. Again minimal post shave sent, which I preffer.

Hope my opinion helps, I'll be happy to test any other batches or soaps/creams that you need testing in the future.
