Target?
I heard that target carries Proraso stuff in their "Spa" section of the store, and I just wanted to confirm that..... do they still carry it, or is that a thing of the past?
I bought some already at Bath and Bodyworks (The C.O. Bigelow cream is actually proraso.... for those of you who might not have known....) and really liked it.
Also does anyone know what major stores / pharmacies carry, as far as decent shaving stuff goes?
I'll start -
CVS - Clubman Pinaud (never tried it, but I've seen it online enough) and Williams Mug soap
Walmart - Van Der Hagen Deluxe soap - not bad stuff, actually
Walgreens - sucks for shaving supplies
Any one know about Kroger, Harris Teeter, or any other places?
I've been looking for a place locally to buy Palmolive shaving cream, to give it a shot...
Thanks,

Kroger is selling Williams mug soap for .99 cents here locally. Sorry don't know about Harris Teeter.

Well,
WRT Palmolive, you are out of luck. The US version was discontinued, and if you find it it will be online. The European version is still available but they are not the same product.
When at Walgreen's keep your eyes open for stuff in a tube from "The Real Shaving Co." as this is Creighton's company brand, Creighton being the company that at least until recently, and perhaps still, formulated Taylor, T&H, and others' shaving creams for them.
It is a good cream. There are two versions, I think-the one I have has a slight tea tree smell to it and lathers profusely; I've not tried the other version, it may be great or may be wretched for all I know.
Kiss My Face and Toms of Maine both make shaving creams that are quite good, keep your eyes peeled for those, and every so often there are others that show up on the shelves that work.
Even that headblade stuff lathers (not the oil but the cream) even though it doesn't advertise it as such on the bottle.
Happy hunting.

The Target by my house has a crap shaving section but I will check to see if they have a "spa" section. On the other hand, the Walgreens near me has a nice selection. I got all three Pinaud fragrances there; Lilac, Bay Rum, Club Man, also a styptic pencil and some Nivea products. They have some cheap brushes and two varieties of cheap soap. I also got my Maas metal polish there, I think it must depend on the different stores as far as what products they stock.

I found some C. O. Bigelo shave cream in a tube at Bath and Body Works in Brighton NY a month ago. It is made exculsively by Poraso. I have a tub of Poraso I purchased from Target a before I got into str8s and it seems to be the same to me when lathered. Here's the link: Bath & Body Works - Premium Shave Cream with Eucalyptus Oil They also have a smaller size, Bay Rum after shave Balm, Bay Rum Eau de Toilette and pre shave oils along with other stuff you may find useful.

One of these days in your travels, a guy is going to show you a brand-new deck of cards on which the seal is not yet broken. Then this guy is going to offer to bet you that he can make the jack of spades jump out of this brand-new deck of cards and squirt cider in your ear. But, son, do not accept this bet, because as sure as you stand there, you're going to wind up with an ear full of cider.

I just asked the clerk if they had any shaving stuff and she pointed me to the shave cream. I like it a lot. Nice lather, nice feel and nice shave. You may ne able to find a local shop fron the online link and you can give them a call to save the trip.

so, I went to different manufacturer websites and used the store locator, and I found that Crabtree and Evelyn also has other people resell their stuff. As it turns out, a local florist here in town carries their sandalwood, bay rum, and almond (I think) shave creams. No brushes or anything else, but they do have the creams.
I would have never thought to look at that kind of place, so use your store locators!
