Default Do I have a Rash, allergy, or dryness?

I've developed some irritated redness under my neck just below the area where the beard on my neck grows. I know it can't be razorburn since it's below the area where I shave. The area remains warm to the touch even during the next day (I shave in the evening). The only thing that I can make out is that I either have a rash due to allergy from the EO in the Classic Shaving soap or I've developed some dryness of the skin from the heavy alcohol aftershaves I use.

Any ideas what this could be?

Looks like contact dermatitis. I'd switch products, and see a dermatologist.

Just a thought but are you grabbing that spot with your stretching hand and pulling with a fair amount of pressure ? It almost looks like four fingertips would fit in there just right.

I don't think it's from the fingers...it's more of a rash-like symptom. I think BeBerlin hit the nail on the head on this one. I've lathered on some hydrocortisone to see if the problem goes away. I think that I can say that it's probably the Classic Shaving soap. I had noticed some tingling when it was brushed on, but this may confirm that it has irritated the skin.

It's as Robin says. Its contact Dermatitis. Try the cortisone and an anti-histamine cream (benedryl) or and oral anti-histamine than spending lots of money on a dermatologist. If it does not clear up, then you should see one. I would also test the soap somewhere else on your body because if its really contact dermatitis it will cause a rash anywhere it touches.
Good Luck!

I changed soaps from the CS soap I was using and it cleared right up between that and the hydrocortisone. Guess I won't be using CS soaps anymore

If that fails seek medical advice

Seeing as it's warm to the touch I'd say it's some sort of rash/irritation from your soap. Switch soaps.
