Two days ago I ordered a dozen barber towels on Amazon. With shipping it came to just under twenty dollars .My question is, how do you gents heat up your towels or wash rags? For the past few years I never used towels. I only washed my face with hot water before soaping it up.
I have been soaking them "wash rags" in super hot water, but I'm tired of burning my fingers fishing them out of the sink. I thought of putting a wet one in the microwave. Any ideas?

Hang your towl in the sink with half of it in and half out. Boil a jug and pour water on half that is in the sink. Lift with dry end, fold with dry half out. Then apply to face.
No burnt fingers from fishing or from trying to hold it on your face.
Isnt it weird that our face can take more heat than our hands.

Usually I shave after shower and do not need the towels, but when I do use them I will get them wet and put in microwave for 2 1/2 - 3 minutes YMMV, by the time the heat is used up in the first towel the second should be ready and so on for 3-4 towels. I also lightly lather between towels to work lather into beard and pores.I hope this helps God bless and good luck.

I use a rice steamer. First I wet the towels , wring them out, roll them up and then place them on a shallow platform above the water. It works like a charm! MikeB

I like the idea of using the rice steamer. It has a small counter foot print. If I used the microwave, I would have to go across the whole house to get to the kitchen after I shower . In the time it takes to get back the towels are getting cold. Best of all I have a rice steamer I hardly ever use. Isn't it great all the ideas a person can pick up from SRP

Rice steamers get the towels as hot as any barber shop ever did and they seem to heat in the time of a shower. Good luck and good shaving. MikeB

If I shaved just a couple times a week I could deal with the microwaves and rice steamers and all those contraptions but since I shave every day I can't be bothered with going into the kitchen after my shower to heat up a towel and then going back in to boil water for a scuttle. My tap water is hot enough for the towel and mainly I just lather on my face. I like to keep things simple.

i wonder, after you have that hot towel - what do you do with it?
Stand and look at the ceiling, hold it on your face, lay on the floor? Do I need a reclining chair in the bath as well?
