splated maple razor box
Saw this piece of maple in the classifieds and decided to make myself a box for razors. And as Alex said in the ad, pictures do not do justice to this piece of wood.
Thanks for looking.
Tim

THAT IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL TIM!!!! The look the wood gives that box just says "WOW". I also like the way you brought the box up by adding the pedestal to the bottom. Congrats on another great job showing off your skill. Keep them coming and for sure keep letting us see them.

Great work, that is by far the pretiest razor box I've seen yet!
Detach, I also can see a face or at least the head and shoulders of a person in the spalting, so we're probably both crazy.

Yeah, there's a face there for sure lol. In person it always looked to me like a head that was exploding on top so the brain was exposed. Weird I know. I wanted to keep the wood and do something with that face looking part, but I can't build boxes like Tim does!
Anyway, looks great!

Sorry, I'm not taking on any more "projects". That means no scales, restoration, honing, you name it. Look for my custom razors in the future though!

BAH!!! and another face!!! (it's in the middle looks like an old lady with a big nose and a big chin) and very nice on the inside as well! I like the rounded rather than square edge for the spacer end of the scales...i love the details
