Mastro Livi Folding Knife
Just got this new knife from Mastro Livi and had to share. This is just Awesome!!!! 7 1/2 inches long. The blade is 3 inches long and the handle is MOP. The blade is made out of ATS 34. This thing is a looker for sure.

Is that going to be the give away door prize for the Mid-Mo get together?  Looks better than great, how can you beat MOP? Is this the knife you are going to use for trout at Bennett Springs?

I'm thinkin' a Rapala on the stream would be a better bet. Hate to drop this one in.......

Congratulations that is just SUPERB .
I would want to use it but would be afraid of loosing it so it would have to be fitted with a lanyard.

Very nice. But how does MOP take abuse and the things that happen in normal use?
I.e. things like falling, banging against something, scraping across something...

Looks to me like this is a knife more in the "collectors" class than the User's class really.
If Lynn would want a heavy or even daily user he'd probably be on a different material than MOP.

I actually have a smaller MOP Henckels knife that I carry mainly on weekends. A little too big for the casual work pants every day. That thing takes a ton of abuse and I use it a bunch. It has held up very well. This knife though is definitely heavy. I'll probably carry it around a little and see how it does. Otherwise it goes in the box with my TA Davidsons........ 
For trout cleaning though, I really like the cheap little Rapala's. Just keep it in my vest. It takes a ton of abuse. I can lay it down on the side of the stream when cleaning fish, etc. Not sure this knife would appreciate that kind of treatment........

Knives have a soul. They want to be used Putting it in s a box is such a shame. It'd be the same as having nice custom razors and NOT using them...

Hey Lynn, tell you what: If it comes down to that, send it to me and pretend it is in the box. That way
-you'll be happy because you own a nice knife (and technically it will still be yours.
-the knife will be happy because it won't be a drawer queen.

Lynn, I have real bad news...
I've found some fixed blades that are killers to the KAD problems (Knife Acquisition Disorder). I now alternate between two EDC fixed blades
a Busse Fatty Game Warden:
and a Matt Bailey Halibut in G10 Micarta:
The Busse is *heavy* but a great performer, while the Bailey is just a sweet knife to carry. |
