I really like Wool Fat - sheep juice soap, alot. I believe the only way to get this stuff to work is to face lather with it. This might be helpfull. How to Lather Shaving Soap | Wet Shavers Blog

I've tried quite a few soaps and MWF is easily my fave.
I like the closeness and is awsome with a drop of glycerine (very moisturising).
I find I really need to load the brush and build lather on face, I build a slightly wet and glossy lather.
Also find I can make a great uberlather with ingrams cream for a change sometimes.
Here in UK I can get it for about £4 a puck, haven't really shopped around, John Lewis sell it rebranded as Kent.
I also use Dr Harris sometimes which I love and is a close 2nd to MWF for me.

Man use the Fat straight up first, you'll be amazed at the quality of lather. It is far the best out there. The only 2 that come close are La Toja and Tabac, in that order.

What's the step-by-step to getting a full lather with this stuff...mine just won't "explode"

MWF is a very hard soap, and it seems that alot of the trouble people have with this is soap not loading eneough onto their brushes.
Some soak the puck in water to soften it.
I either rub the puck on my face like a shave stick, or grate the puck and use the shavings; makes life a lot eaiser
You can also add a pea sized dollop of shaving cream to the mix; this will help stabilise the lather - I use Musgo Real for a lanolin-y super-lather
