I recently purchased the Original Latigo 2 1/2" strop from Tony at the TWSG online store. This is the strop without a handle.
The strop is of the highest quality imaginable. I found the leather to be of medium draw and VERY consistent and smooth throughout the stropping stroke. The linen side is also consistent and of high quality.
The only problem I had with the strop was of a personal nature. I didn't enjoy stropping as much without any kind of handle. By holding the strop at the non-handled end, I was giving up some stropping length and the end was actually starting to curl a bit. I have since installed the 'D' ring assembly on the end, which I ordered from TWSG. Now, everything is GREAT! Because of the 'D' ring handle, I have a longer stropping distance, it is much easier to control, and I can relax more during the stropping.
I highly recommend this strop to anyone who wants a quality stropping experience for a reasonable price ($49)

I have the same strop and the same personal preference for a handle of some sort. I have been using mine without one for a couple of weeks and I can already see some warp near the bottom edge so should probably get a D ring as well
