Anybody seen an retractable strop..
I've seen this on in a movie "4 for Texas" with Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra.

This is the scene
as Franki is about to get a shave form a beautiful lady, she strops first the razor on that retractable strope
mounted on the barberstool..

Question is, is it possible and if yes what kind of leather has to be used good enough for a good strop>?

They are always on Eboy. usually though the leather is in very poor shape so unless you are going to do a major refurb you need to be careful.

Haha - I watched that movie yesterday afternoon too!

I have a retractable strop and asked a similar question about the leather, as I was going to replace it. But I managed to get the existing leather back on track. There's a picture of my strop in this thread.

I've seen them advertised on ebay as "ladies strops"?? Don't really know what that means though.
