Canadian Customers Wanted
In 2008 we will continue our participation in a special program with UPS that proved to be very popular last year. This program, which is called World Ease, offers Canadian customers all the benefits that UPS brings as a premier international shipping specialist, without any of the hassles or high fees historically associated with such shipments.
Here are the key features of the program:
• Vintage Blades is established as a "Non-Resident Importer” in Canada. By means of holding a Canadian business number, we are both the Exporter of Record and the Importer of Record for the goods that we ship. As the Importer of Record, we are able to pay the customs duty on our shipments upon their entry into Canada based on our cost of goods rather than the price you pay. We pass these savings on to you.
• Under this program, you will be charged a minimal brokerage fee. The other fees that you usually see from UPS are not charged on these shipments. Of course the Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be charged, but it also is based on our cost of goods. In addition, there is no PST either charged or due upon delivery under this program.
• You pay everything upfront, or as they say, you pay “Landed Cost”. You will know the total cost of your order before it leaves the US. You are invoiced for a total “Shipping Cost” based on the total value of the items that you ordered. This total “Shipping Cost” includes all the above – the cost of shipping, the brokerage fee, the customs duty, and the GST. Your order is delivered to your door and you owe nothing else. Again, note that due to software limitations, your invoice will say only “Shipping Cost” but includes all fees and taxes.
• We will consolidate orders and ship once a week. This will be done on Thursday. The UPS “hub” in Canada is in Fort Erie which takes two days from Maryland. From there it will go by UPS Ground to your Province.
• There is also one other additional benefit to this program. Vintage Blades is able to import aftershaves containing alcohol and colognes into Canada and ship them to you with no additional fees added.
Below is the fee schedule in place for 2008. It reflects the UPS rate increase that is in effect as of 1/02/2008. Our shopping cart software automatically applies your total “shipping cost” based on your order amount.

EDT Samples
As an incentive to attract new customers and to bring back some old ones, for the remainder of February and through March, I will be sampling the Classic Fragrances from Floris of London. These include their Special No. 127, Limes, and the delightful Vetiver. In addition, I will also be sampling the Eau de Parfum from the Castle Forbes Collection, which include their Gentlemen's Cologne, 1445, Forbes of Forbes, Keig, and Lonach. (Sorry, no Neroli) Obviously, not all products will go out with each order. So, if you have a preference, please specify such on your order form.

Sorry if this isn't obvious and I'll delete it if you like BUT
30$ shipping fees plus UPS brokerage of another 30$ on 100$ is really not appealing.

It seems to be a common problem with all internet shoppers, not just Canadians, but you just don't seem to read things thoroughly. There is nothing else. It's like the Prego spaghetti sauce, it's in there. Total “Shipping Cost” includes the cost of shipping, the brokerage fee, the customs duty, and the GST.
You pay me what you see on the rate schedule, I ship you your package, UPS delivers your package, the driver says "Hi" and leaves. UPS doesn’t charge you anything more. I've been trying for 6 months to make this clear, but some how folks still don't seem to get it. This is a good deal.

Fellow Canadians, lend me your ear.... and no, I don't mean for you to lop it off with a W & B and send it to me in the post. I have personally dealt with Jim at Vintage Blades, his shipping setup is perfect for us canucks. It works just like Jim says. You pay for the product plus the shipping costs according to the schedule, and it arrives at your door with no more fees, duties, taxes or for that matter, sticky fingered customs agents throwing themselves in front of that $75 bottle of aftershave, sacrificing themselves in order to SAVE YOU from a HAZARDOUS product. In a nutshell, no BS.
It really does work great. I ordered some stuff from Jim last year, a bit before xmas and 5 business days later the UPS guy walks up to the counter at work, drops the package, turns around and walks away.... leaving me happy as can be.
By the way, did you notice the missing PST? That's right folks, you pay the GST only. Why? Because Jim is an absentee importer, he does not live in any Province so he does not have to collect any PST.
Jim runs his business in a professional manner and he has gone out of his way to ensure that he can ship anything and everything to his Canadian customers without them having to endure such things as confiscated "hazardous goods" that all too often get *destroyed* by Customs Canada Officers in order to protect us good citizens. He also didn't want us suffering with ransom notes from UPS (who can carry those hazardous products unlike the post office) when the package arrives in Canada. It's an all around good deal so order with confidence... the system Jim has set up works and works very well.
Regards

I'm happy I responded and WAS WRONG. FAR FAR better than shipping plus brokerage (UPS Rapeage is evil). My apology and I will leave my error up and your explanation as I won't be the only canadian with a stick up his butt about UPS.
For those who don't quite understand
UPS will charge 25$ for the privilege of having the canadian government give them a free stamp.
GST is 6% of the purchase.
Vintage Blades is essentially eating the actual shipping.
Thanks,
-Bob

Program Upgrade
At the suggestion of one of our esteemed members, I have made a change to my Canadian shipping program to bring it into parity with that for US customers. Effective immediately, all orders of $250.00 and up will receive “Free Shipping”. Please note, that your invoice will still reflect “Shipping Cost” as shown on the schedule below, but will only include those charges for brokerage, duty, and GST that you have pre-paid.
In addition, to try to help those who continue not to bother to read the document explaining the program that I have in place with UPS, I have added the following to the bottom of both the “Shopping Cart” and “Checkout” pages of the store to clarify my “high” cost of shipping to Canada:
“CANADIAN CUSTOMERS: Please be aware that the “Shipping” charges shown also include your pre-payment of customs duty, brokerage fees, and GST. This and more is fully explained in our Canadian Shipping Policy, which we recommend that you read before placing your order.”
For Total....................“Shipping
Orders Of......................Cost” *
Under $100.....................$29.99
$100 to $149.99..............$34.99
$150.00 to $199.99..........$39.99
$200.00 to $249.99..........$44.99
$250.00 to $299.99..........$37.49 ---- "Free Shipping" begins
$300.00 to $349.00...........$42.49-----with orders of
$350.00 to $399.99...........$47.49-----$250 or more
$400.00 to $449.00...........$52.49
$450.00 to $499.99...........$57.49
$500.00 to $599.99...........$62.49
$600 and Up.....................$67.49 Plus 6%
*Includes shipping, brokerage fees, duty, and GST.
