Default Cooking fire

We've had this for some time, but since it is arguably the nicest applicance in the house, I thought it was worth a brag.

It is a SMEG cooking fire. It is considered the rolls royce of cooking fire. For what it cost I could have easily bought a 7 day Livi set.

One of the burners os for stir frying, one for fish, and the rest for general cooking.
The oven is slightly over 2 foot wide, and can be used for everything.
The stainless plate is punched from 1 sheet, and has no corners at all. It cleans up perfectly even after a lot of cooking. The rosters are from black cast iron.

The burners are ignited by piezo elements, and they have thermocouple protected valves. The flame goes out, and the valve is closed automatically 5 seconds later.

The thing weighs about 120 kilos, and still looks almost as new.
It takes cooking to a new level.

That is a seriously nice cooker, Bruno. I wish you well to use it!

When we moved into our house the previous owners decided to sell us the range they had put in at cut price. It's a Britannia -- the best thing about it is a smaller secondary oven.

Bruno -- are you going to get one of those big hoods for it? If you plan to stir fry a lot, I'd recommend you look into it otherwise your kitchen gets a fine coating of oil and grease very quickly!

We decided to take the big oven because we like oven dishes, and if you have a couple of guests you need the space. With the 2 smaller ovens you lose a lot of space, and you cannot put 2 large dishes in your oven anymore.

For smaller things we use the microwave which also doubles as heated air oven.

We have a very cheap 'air sucker' over the fire, and the wall is protected by a sheet we can wash.

Very nice indeed.

I'll vouch for the two-ovens-are-smaller issue. The house we moved into has an over/under oven setup, and the night before we were going to have family over for Thanksgiving dinner the first year in the house, I thought I'd better check to see if our roasting pan fit into what I knew was a smaller oven. It didn't. I had to race to the store to find the last remaining aluminum, disposable roaster.
