Restoration Chat Tuesdays 8:00pm EST - Page 2

Remember every Tuesday night 8:00 pm EST, we meet in the chat room to discuss the Restoration projects we are working on or are planning on working on.... The chat has been growing steadily every week, there are quite a few veteran restores that are showing up so if you are new to restoration or maybe just have a question that is itching your brain please feel free to come on by and sit in... everybody is welcome!!!!
The chats have been lasting about 2 - 2 1/2 hours of pure razor talk before we just start the general BS session Hey those are fun too!!!!

After attending class, lecture, and labs from 9:30 to 7:45, sitting down with a good drink or 4 and knocking off a few remaining hours in the day talking about reviving old razors sounds like just the thing. Count me in, provided I don't get stuck in this next round of snow headed up!

2 quick things I forgot to put up here......

I might be a little late for tonights chat, I have a Seminar to attend down in Spokane but I will be here, hey I'm not all that important anyway so I'll see you guys when I get in.... (yes I'll bring some extra beer)

Also we would like to thank whichever Mod made this thread into a sticky it sure makes it a lot easier to find and to post to it now!!!!!

I'm looking forward to tonight's chat. I've put a fair bit of work into a few blades and will be starting in on making scales as well pretty soon. Of course, tons of questions have come up, and I still need to bring a pad and pen with me when I work to write the darned things down.

When sharing photos of work in chat, is it prefered to post them to the forum, or link them from another web source (such as a Picasa web album, or photo dump)?

i dont suppose anyone has the irc server name/port for those of us who aren't on good terms with flash?

Unfortunately, it's not an irc server with a port for irc clients. It's just a flash application that works with the forum software - all text based and mainly CPU intensive on the client side. It looks like it's probably an easy way to keep bandwidth needs to a minimum and without having to install any software.

IMO (mine only!) I wouldn't mind if a efnet .org channel were setup - Lynn could take ownership of it, and it wouldn't take any bandwidth or space on the SRP servers. Of course, then the chat would need to direct to the webspace login for efnet.org and those of us with irc clients could simply use that client...

Yes same time same channel for the Tuesday night restoration chat....8:00 pm EST in the chat room...... Tons of great ideas have come up this week on the boards and in the chat room.. I noticed a lot of new people posting threads of their latest work, please feel free to come join us......Tuesday night in the chat, BYOB and this weeks project come set a spell and lets talk razors

I did however hone a razor by oil lamp light tonight so that's gotta count for some kind of retro old fashioned points

The chat tonight should be an extra special one, we will for sure be talking about the tumbler method for polishing up razors....Anything else of course is open too...
Really looking forward to seeing everyone there..
