Default Brass Wedge

Does anyone know where to get brass for wedges on scales? I found some brass at Hobby Lobby but it was too thin. Thanks.

While not the expert - I do believe that some people simply take old house keys and grind them to shape.

I've ordered brass flatbar from speedymetals.com and also bought it locally at an independent hobby shop.

Most hardware stores carry Brass Bar Stock, I have had more luck at the smaller ones rather than Home Depot etc: Even in Podunk Idaho

+1 on the key.
You can order brass plate from an online metal supplier, but it's pricy. I ordered .125" x 6"x12" not too long ago and it was close to 100USD. Any one notice metal prices soring in the last two years?

Hey Bro, No disrespect, but do you mean tube? Have fun making your wedge.

And 30$ for the plate is a steal! I needed 260 or 360 machining brass plate for work, and it was a custom cut, plus the vendors bend us over, but I swear it was eighty or ninety dollars.
