I have recently acquired some razors to restore. I was informed at the time of purchase that the scales on two of them are ivory. How does one verify if it's really ivory? Could it just be a lightly polished bone? I will try to get some pics if it will help.

with bone you can usually see little brown specks in the scales from the blood in the bone. There are several threads on iding ivory just do a search.
