How does this look guys? Please give me your advice. The inlays are just setting on there at the moment. I also used basswood from michaels, does that matter or should I use a heavier wood

Is one of the scaled flipped over for the picture? It looks like you made two front side scales.

Good start.

I wouldn't have used basswood since it is not very strong and is quite light, but you can probably get away with it. It certainly is easier to shape than harder stuff.

I hav'nt rouned and flattened the bottom so it looks the same.

I'm still confused, wouldn't one of the inlays be inside where the blade sits if these were pinned now??

For softer woods like basswood you could use woodhardener to make the scales stronger.

As for making the inlay flush or encoated, there are some guys here that are pretty proficient with CA coatings....

Good luck, and don't forget about balancing the scales to the weight of the blade....
