Well we're getting lots of bad weather due to the hurricane right now. Horrible winds. Trees down flooding and of course No Power... Stay safe if you're being affected also....

Winds have died down but trees and power lines down everywhere.. still no power and predicting it might be midnight tomorrow before we get it back. Had to go out on the dock during the storm and jump from the dock onto the pontoon boat that broke loose and retie a line and toss it back onto the dock and jump back to tie off the pontoon before it got blown away...

Is there a Doctor in the house ?
20 years ago I had a 26' sloop moored to a couple of engine blocks in the dredged channel behind my house. A hurricane and a storm surge lifted the boat and the engine blocks and moved them all 200m up river. Decided it was easiest to start again with a new engine block rather than trying to lift the old ones! I miss sailing, but the boat never saw as much use as it deserved when I was working and on call 24/7.

I hope you have power back. Living on the gulf coast for the last 35 years. I absolutely hate hurricane season. When I retire in four years. I will be moving north at least 100 miles. Although we were spared this year in Galveston. We did however evacuate one time just in case. I get my wife to a safe location then come back because I am required to stay in a storm. Hopefully this is the last storm anyone needs to worry about this year.

Thank you but we still don't have power yet.. fortunately we have a generator we run at night so we have basic lights and ceiling fans and tv but no water or air conditioning or stove..
