use a good face wash and you should be good... a warm shower will help soften the hair before the shave and or a warm towel..

No, and I don't think I would since shipping costs must be high to reach France (if they deliver internationally).
Why this question?
@jaro1069
Chris from CBL emailed me yesterday because someone from france ordered from him yesterday.. Also you know the general cost because Chris gave me the general cost of shipping to france and I posted it on here for you to see the other day....

Another question, (which this time is irrelevant to the initial post), I was planning to take a block of Alum, is it really useful? Or the fact of passing a towel of very cold water is enough to stop potential blood cuts?
I also wanted to create a brand new post to get advice on how to prepare the hair/skin before shaving (apart from soap and badger), but if you can give me your answers by replying directly to this post it's with great pleasure (in which case I'll create a new topic)
Alum block and/or a styptic stick should be in every shavers den. At some point - you will need it.

I can't find the message where you gave me the price about the CBL website :unsure:

CBL Soaps are not available in France unfortunately, whether on amazon france or on french brands/stores, that's why i will probably pick among Tobacco, Martin de Candre, Floid, RazoRock or Proraso i think.
I just talked to Chris at CBL and he says he ships to Europe.. He ships a lot to Switzerland and he can ship to France too.. He said... " The shipping costs for 8-30 ounces runs about $24 "

Hey ! I've decided to put a bigger amount on the purchase of brush, some ideas of brand in this price range ? (Animals friendly or synthetic if my budget is too low for real badger)
I've heard that Edwin Jagger brushes are quoted by the company to have hair from a sustainable source of the badger species Meles meles (the European badger.) :unsure:
I believe that France and Germany have a pest control program for badgers. Muhle (?) and Plisson are allowed to harvest the fur. EJ probably gets theirs from Muhle.

@jaro1069 @Jdchambersjr ?

I was impressed with the Omega 10048 brush - VFM- it's big and easy to create lather but it can be smelly for the first shaves! Also, I had a Pinaud Clubman Dopp Kit a while ago for 13 euros which, among the other, contains a synthetic brush that I liked a lot and was easy to maintain. I think it's great for starters who do not want to spend much on one brush. Pinaud synthetic brush is pretty nice I think but I don't know it s price alone.

Also, Edwin Jagger DE89 (which I think uses the same head with Muhle R89) was my first DE razor years ago and it was more than what I needed and I think it's less than 30 euros now. Merkur HD also mentioned before is a good choice but maybe pricier. Merkur Futur is heavy and bulky but I usd to like the different design (porsche-like). Also, it cuts deep in high levels of blade exposure so I would avoid it for start- it's easy to get tempted and it needs experience IMO. To be honest I found the Muhle R41 much more usable and friendly than Merkur Futur at high settings. I felt that Futur set at 3, maybe 3+, was like Edwin Jagger DE89 but with a much less bulky feel (also slippery). The comments for cutting hair below nose are also true in my case.

I'm not looking at you !
For a DE, I'd recommend a Merkur Slant , Feather blades, and check out Mama Bear soaps. Been a fan for 10 years. The slant is a little aggressive but easy to master and gives a great shave. Feather blades... none better IMHO.

@jaro1069 @Jdchambersjr ?
What's the price range ? Shavemac in Germany is good. Bernd makes some nice brushes..

Shavemac Badger is tough to beat. I've had one for over ten years and it has lost almost zero bristles. If you can manage, better to buy a good one instead of another down the road.

I would go and have a look at Shavemac, but I will also look at Kent, Plisson or Edwin Jagger with a budget of 50/60euros, I should find what I'm looking for, (besides all these brands are equivalent in terms of quality, lifespan... ?).

Here is the one with the "grey hair badger" as i mentionned in the previous post :unsure:
I have seen that the Russian Grey Badger is probably the best value badger.
Soft but firm, it helps soften the hair before shaving. Can you confirm this?
However it is a shaving brush from the Access collection of Plisson, is it a qualitative collection? The grey russian hairs used are similar or a little less than more expensive models using the same composition or not?

Pure silver plated olive wood shaving brush, CLASSIC series from the German brand Mühle, he's probably better no ? They said :
"Silberspitz Dachszupf or pure silver/silvertip is a form of quintessence: only the best of the carefully selected badger hair is used to make these brushes by hand."
If this is the case I find the price extremely affordable for this quality, do we agree? @Bogie @jaro1069 @Jdchambersjr
