Don't Know anything about this one. No name . I've been looking for one like I had back in the 60s and 70s. I really liked that hone. it did a great job on my knives but I guess someone thought more of it than me because it left one day and never came back. I really miss that stone. If this one doesn't pan out I'll try another one. I don't need one for my razors but would like one for my knives.

It’s okay but like the one I had back then. The one I had then would make a slurry pretty quick and put an edge on the blade then with less pressure polish the edge. It was great. I hope to visit a friend who has se
Has several different stones I could look at. The ones that are used maybe even try one. That way I know what name to look for.

I do believe this is a dark blue thuringian hone. I've honed my pocket knife and so far it gives a good edge. It is a slow stone and requires a slurry stone to create the slurry quickly. you can get the slurry with jut the knife but it's slower. I think I'm going to like it. I plan on a visit to a friend in the future (don't know when that will be) to show him and find out what he thinks about it. I looked up an escher stone on the net and way out of my reach. it was just under 3K dollars. scared me.

I’ve looking and have changed my mind about it. I now don’t believe it is a Thuringian It’s a very good hard stone I just wish I knew what it really is. With nothing but photos in the computer it’s very hard to tell
