Replacing scales?

Thanks. I have a dremel, with some red polish (came with it). I can give it a go and see what it looks like. I don't have any buffing wheels (my only bench grinder is high speed and has grinding wheels only).

Good point. I've never tried to polish resin before. Will give it a quick try. They look pretty good, but I'll see if I can improve a bit.

Just use short quick burst. Don't leave the wheel on it to long and warp it or worse..

Will do. Haven't used the dremel much (tried it on polishing the blade, but most the the scale work was done by hand).

I finished it today. Holes drilled fine, a little work to get all the double stick tape off, and I reused the spacer. It was shipped a bit differently, and stuck out some on one side and in a bit on the other, so I trimmed it a bit and called it a day.

The pinning went OK. I should have cut the rod a bit longer, so that I could flatten it more, but if I have problems, I can use another pin, as I have a bunch. Here's the final job...

I think I did OK for a first attempt. Will be happy to try it out.

If you try to flatten the pin too much it will bind and the blade want center right. All so a product called Goo Gone will remove tape glue really good. This looks like a good job

Yeah, I finally found the bottle I had, and it helped getting it cleaned off. Gotcha on the pins. I didn't want to hammer them too much more, as it was starting to tighten up a bit. The blade is pretty centered, just a tiny bit to one side. The pins seem OK, but if I have issues, I've got a bunch more rod as it's like two 5" pieces. I should never use that up.

I'm mostly a function over form person, so I'm OK with them not being perfect, as long as they work :)

I've got some time on my current razor, but will plug this one into the rotation next.

I'm so happy I could get this one working again. As mentioned, it has some history with me resurrecting the blade before, and only getting 20-30 shaves before the (already) cracked scale broke. I wanted to be able to give it a good work out and see how well it will shave for me. I've got that chance now.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!
