Is there a Doctor in the house ?
Now I'm drooling! Though if the wedge is glued I have no complaints about having just one rivet at the hinge.

Let's await further critics. If appreciated, adding a bullseye on the wedge side too, either with a real rivet or just a glued one with a fake rivet end (though I'm used to evade fake), will be a "whistle of one cent" (a piece of cake:)).

I’m a big fan of Manhattan Cutlery! I have a French Point that is easily one of my best shavers!BC72DC64-7810-4152-B19D-C0CF355FE897.jpeg

I used a Railroad spike I made a small rivet anvil from with small holes in the top to use for peening rivet's with that works well. I use pretty much brass rod I get at a hobby shop that works great! I want to start making my own washers from brass sheet.

Can you post a picture of the Anvil you mentioned?

Just get a good straight R.R. spike and polish the head of the spike. I used a couple of small drill bits to make shallow holes in the head and polished it again. I tried to have the holes near the center of the head. I just put the spike in one of my vices and use it that way. Easy to make & use.

No I did not paint it myself. I can't even paint an egg if I would. The peacock is a relief on the scale and the colours were added in the factory. I guess the relief is not painted in the usual way. No colours on the surface but some sort of "ingrained" in the production process
