Hey Y’all , been wet shaving all my life but only 10 with a Straight razor. I fell in love with the patience, care and routine of shaving with a straight. I’m still learning though, so I am looking forward to pick up everything I can.
thank you for this great place!

Hi fellow shavers,
Taking my first steps in the SR world,
Have a couple of vintage razors on the way, will restore them, learn to hone them, strop and start skingrafting:LOL:

Have a set of stones on the way and a Hairloom Artisan premium strop on the way too.

I am honored to join and learning so much from the accumulated knowledge and experience gathered in this forum.
Wishing a good day to all from Guayaquil, Ecuador

Hi, new guy here. Justin from Texas. Been using DE razors and SE shavettes for 5 months. Then, I got in touch with Glen in a facebook SRP group. Just had my first straight razor shave yesterday, and it's honestly the big bad thing I've been chasing this whole time. Excellence in the form of a blade.View attachment 8620
Welcome and have fun on your continuing journey.

Whew, it's been a while.

I think it's been over 13 years since I was an active member here, and I guess my membership lapsed. I had been in the original Yahoo group back in 2002, then was one of the early members back in the Straight Razor Place. I was pretty active up until 2010-ish. I'm not sure how many people remember me from back then. The main reason I fell off the earth for so long was because there was a lot of upheaval in my life for that timen. Things have been settled for the past 7 years or so, and I'm kinda starting to breathe again. The reason I didn't come back sooner was because I wanted to avoid online forums during the Trump and COVID years, people were having a hard time disagreeing respectfully and keeping conversation civil during that time.

I'm sure a lot has happened in the group since I was last here. It seems there was a split of some kind? I was getting notifications for a while from the "Sharp Razor Place" forum. Not sure I want all the details, but I am sort of curious about what happened over that time.

To all the old members who might have a vague recollection of me, I'm glad to be back, and for all the people who have no idea who the hell I am, nice to meet you

Welcome back. glad your here. There are some of the old members here as well as new members. As far as politics I really can't say I've seen any talk of it. As far as honing shaving and razors there's a lot of that. All respectful conversation but we all have our favorites. I can't say I remember you but then again I'm old and can't remember what I had for breakfast. What makes it worse is I cooked:D. Please enjoy yourself. There's a lot of good folks here.

That has to be the most diplomatic and oblique statement I have ever read, LOL. I'm glad the drama is in the past. :)
